Colophon

This site uses Skolar, a serif font which belongs to the lineage of those classics New Century Schoolbook and Bookman. You will read online that sans serif fonts are more readable, that it’s been proven. Absolutely not. Several centuries of typography argue against that. I use the Roman and Italic weights alone; bold came in with nineteenth-century advertising. Useful there and elsewhere, but the person who must use bold and emjoi and similar doodads simply doesn’t know how to write.

The background is #e6e6e8. The generic background of white #ffffff which you see everywhere…people should know better. There’s no pure white in nature, nor black either. Both will have tinges of other colors. ‘Nuff said.
